I figured I'd help out Shale here and do a poll. Of course, the double sim at the end of the season was full of controversy, so I think we should do a poll to see what people think. So what are your thoughts on double sims?
Traditionally, we double sim the first sim of the season. We also double sim at times when the league is lagging (maybe after a long delay or if nothing is really happening).
This poll is just informational. It's up to the commish if this becomes a rule change.

Never. It's bad enough when one of your good players gets injured in the first game of a regular sim. Imagine you're in contention, and a key guy gets hurt during the first week of a 2 week sim. You can say you don't give a shit, but you will if it happens to you. Double sims are just a really bad idea that there's never any good reason for.

Thanks for doing this, Drew. I wouldn't have thought of this personally, but it's good to know where everyone stands. The more voices I hear, the better of a solution I can form to make everyone happy.
Joe made some good points about injuries and obviously, injuries are what led to this poll in the first place, so the lesson learned here is that even if all the wild card races are in the books by mid-August like they all were this season, injuries are still a nagging bitch and we have to tread lightly because of that. Just when you least expect a big injury, it can happen at any moment. All in all, patience is the key word going forward.
There will continue to be 2-week sims for Opening Day though. That's always been a staple to kick off the season, so that at the very least will remain, but I really think patience might be the best option over trying to make up time with a 2-week sim here or there.

Oh and thanks everyone for voicing your opinions and voting here if I didn't already make that clear. I know this place is very quiet at times, but I appreciate the efforts nonetheless.
